Edinburgh - art, rugby, yarn and whisky (not necessarily in that order)

I was fortunate enough to receive tickets for several club and international games for my birthday, and so much of the beginning of this year will be spent in Edinburgh. The city is not so full of tourists at this time of year, and there are some really good hotel deals available - including my favourite boutique chain - Apex.

Last weekends rugby was a great match between Scotland and Italy, Max Evans on the pitch and a 34-10 win the the home nation. What was not to like?!

We had a brisk climb up Arthur's Seat on Saturday morning. Spent some time in reflection, and then skipped down for brunch.

Seemed to spend a lot of the weekend eating and chatting with family and friends, and introducing my beloved to the Dining Room restaurant at the Society was a hit. Falling in love with the architecture of the Old Town, and strolling with good coffee from Artisan Roast (discovered yesterday) is a delight.

Found a lovely yarn shop, and had fun winding yarn and choosing a pattern for man socks. Even managed a reasonable amount (mini cables and pattern pretty time consuming - a labour of love) before dinner last night. Off to be cultured in galleries this morning, lunch with family, then hopefully some creative/reading time with a pot of tea this afternoon.
