This is the ninth novel featuring Edinburgh-based philosopher, Isabel Dalhousie. When she is not editing the Review of Applied Ethics, Isabel finds herself agreeing to attempt to untangle a tricky situation of a much loved painting belonging to a wealthy gentleman friend of an acquaintance. This leads to discussions regarding wealth, inheritance, new money, and public art versus private collections. The regular characters in the series, Jamie and their son Charlie are developing, and there are heated nature/nurture discussions with short-tempered Grace, and the ethical implications of actions of the art theives are bought to a just resolution.
The art I hurriedly made, came on a week of little inspiration, where words seemed more important than the background. Obviously influenced by the cover of the hardback, as the paperback cover offends my sensibilities (shortbread tin tartan spine) I spent longer on the words than I did on cutting out the grass!
Hopefully, my mojo will resurface and something more exciting will develop for next month.
Still a pretty little creation nonetheless!
